Natasha and Matt's Wedding Banquet, part 1

I went to Natasha and Matt's Wedding Banquet tonight - and what an evening!  Their banquet was held at a quaint little seaside Portuguese-style villa in Coloane (i.e. secluded, quiet, with the sound of crickets...).  The setting was beautiful and the bride and groom were even more beautiful.  In order to make me feel more comfortable (single girl, English-speaker), Natasha set me at the groomsmen's table (all English-speakers).  They were hilarious!

I didn't get any decent shots of the bride and groom, hence the part 1.  I can't wait to see the professional photos on Facebook.

I snatched this one from Natasha's FB page.  It was taken on Tuesday, when they went to Hong Kong to register for marriage.  Most brides and grooms do this in China:  they register for marriage at the courthouse, sometimes several months before the actual wedding banquet.  So, there is no marriage ceremony, as in the western tradition.  The banquet is to celebrate their marriage, which has already taken place, in the legal sense.

Each wedding has a theme.  Theirs was "True Love Never Dies."  Each banquet has a stage, like this one.  Great for karaoke and picture-taking.  :)
