Lamma Island

Lamma Island is to the southwest of Hong Kong Island and is a tourist destination because of its clean, quiet beaches and relatively low-key atmosphere in comparison to Hong Kong and Macau.  Jess first went there with her sister in January, then I went with Jess and her parents in March, and finally Carol, Angie, Jess, and I went to Lamma for an end-of-the semester treat on April 28 -29.

We stayed in a small hotel by the beach, ate at local restaurants, shopped at local shops, and hiked and played by the beach until we were quite sun-burnt (some more than others).  Carol very kindly brought along her favorite kind of cake - chocolate and banana - from a bakery in Hong Kong.

It was a great way to unwind after a long semester and to spend quality time with good friends!

Great suggestion, Jess! :)
