Firsts

A few firsts for me recently:

• First time to lead a meeting.  I found out about 5 minutes before the meeting started.  Lasted two hours.  Verdict:  Long but productive meeting.  Probably not the most boring in the world.

• First time to try Tina's cure for a cough (I have a head cold).  Boiled two peeled pears (cut into slices) in enough water to cover them.  Added rock sugar (brown as a substitute).  After pears were softened, ate the pears and drank the juice.  Throat soothed.  Fully hydrated.

• First time to notice that cats, much like miniature dachshunds, will howl / yowl when you hit the high notes on a flute.
