There was a turkey!

Or at least part of one!

Alice asked, "Did I put enough hedges in that email?"

But fortunately, her friend was able to round up a turkey breast for the feast.  She called him yesterday to tell him we were coming.  He said he would call her back if he could find a turkey.  And he did!  It was so good!

On the menu:

Portuguese bread
Pomelo salad with olives and vinegar (so good!)
Bacalhau (dried salted codfish) cakes
Thai-inspired prawns with a paste made of lemongrass and other spices
Portuguese steamed clams
Stir-fried morning glory vines
Turkey breast and cranberry sauce
African chicken (a Portuguese dish)
Ovaltine bunt cake with spiced pears
Two glasses of red wine

Miranda,  Marie, Mark, Ryan, Alice, Me and Monica - the restaurant was very "local."  We sat with the doors open (behind us) to the adjacent alleyway and stores.  It was a cool evening, perfect for a glass of red wine.

The turkey (white and dark meat with chestnuts), cranberry sauce, and a corner of the clams.

A montage from Miranda - the Bacalhau, pomelo salad, African chicken, turkey and chestnuts, prawns, and clams
